You Must Discover Your Purpose Today

Because our time on earth is getting scarcely limited

Finding your purpose is a noble cause in today’s gloomy, lost world.

People often live without intention. They swing from one branch to another because it’s what everyone else is doing.

Jumping on the new hottest trend and moving to the next in the blink of an eye. Always under the thumb of Shiny Object Syndrome.

Surely it can’t be wrong if everyone’s doing the same, right?

Turns out that this way of life highlights the root cause behind today’s modern problems…

We are lacking purpose.

I’ll explain why after we first understand what the word means.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines purpose as follows:

PURPOSE (noun)

    1. Something set up as an object or end to be attained: INTENTION

    2. RESOLUTION, DETERMINATION

  1. A subject under discussion or an action in the course of execution

Purpose is the underlying WHY of any WHAT.

Purpose is the strongest thing anybody has to help them push forward when the going gets tough.

Without purpose, your actions lack meaning…

Without meaning, you can’t discipline yourself…

And without disciplining yourself…

You can’t achieve anything extraordinary.

No purpose means no dreams fulfilled and no vision of your future manifested into a reality.

It’s not a good way to live, trust me.

So if purpose is something so utterly important, why on earth is it so scarce these days?

Why are we lacking purpose?

Look around you. We have the internet, clothes, shelter, food, water, everything.

The times have been very good. Too good, one might say, that there’s no need for anything else.

And there we go.

There’s no need for anything else.

Purpose in and of itself is about fulfilling a need or desire.

The purpose of clothes is to keep us warm. The purpose of food is to keep us alive and healthy.

Without needs to fill, there’s no room for purpose to flourish.

It wasn’t always like this, though.

Before, when times were harder 100 years ago, families had a purpose. They had to raise strong kids to support the bloodline.

Maybe it was harder to put food on the table…

Maybe it was harder to go to and from school…

But mental health problems were non-existent compared to now…

Because they had NEEDS to fill that made the suffering all worth it.

And we are in a serious shortage of needs to fill.

So without needs, purpose can’t thrive.

But there’s always hope.

There’s one thing you can do to discover your purpose as fast as possible.

One thing to help you FIND a need to fill.

And that is to understand your core desires.

Specifically, the desires you have after you peel back the societal conditioning of what success should be.

Forget the big mansion, the fast car, the fancy clothes, and the expensive watches.

Even when you’re surrounded by family and friends, in the end, you will always be stuck with yourself.

What is YOUR pure, unfiltered, raw definition of success?

Can you, out of all people, be proud of who you are?

Are you living a life that’s 100% aligned with your core desires?

And most importantly, what ARE your core desires?

These are the questions you should be asking yourself to discover your purpose.

Once you answer them, you will identify a core need that you can dedicate yourself to filling.

That need, no matter how big or small, is your current PURPOSE.

And it’s that purpose, in our already need-supplied environment, that will give you the shining light you need.

To live a life worth living.

And once discovered, it’s a beautiful existence.

With purpose and fulfillment,

Meg :)
